Soapstone
The unfinished color of Soapstone is gray-green; but after many years of use, it will mature to a dark green – almost black color of rich hue and density. With a semi-soft surface, this characteristic is appreciated by many designers and homeowners who value the patina of use – whether in an antique tabletop or on a kitchen counter. Appropriate for use in many design styles – from rustic ranch to traditional early American – Soapstone is an excellent design component…and one that gets even better with use.

Taking care of soapstone is a breeze. We recommend applying a protective coat of mineral oil to all sinks and countertops upon installation. Mineral oil enhances the inherent natural veining characteristics and crystallization detail of the stone. If your soapstone becomes scratched, follow the advice on our about stone page.
We are proud to be the Northern CA representative for Green Mountain Soapstone Corporation.
