Onyx
Onyx was used historically in the creation of altars and other places of worship. Its main attractions are translucency, incredible color variations and natural patterns, which form unique and intricate designs. When backlit, Onyx panels become almost three-dimensional jewels, and have become very popular interior design elements, especially when made of yellow or brown. Onyx can also be used for wall cladding and various stonework projects, including bath surrounds and vanity units. Thin panels made of Onyx can also be experimented with as an alternative to stained glass windows, again due to its incredible translucent properties.
